How the Prediction Game Works

Welcome to Pitch Pulse, the ultimate World Cup 2026 companion app. If you've ever wanted to prove that you can read games better than your friends, you're in the right place.

Here is the exact scoring rule breakdown:

1. Points Scale (x10 scale)

Each prediction is compared against the final result of the match. Points are awarded as follows:

  • Exact Score (100 pts): You predicted the exact scoreline (e.g. Predicted 2-1, Match finished 2-1).
  • Result + Goal Difference (70 pts): You predicted the correct result (win/draw/loss) and the correct margin of goals, but not the exact scores (e.g. Predicted 2-0, Match finished 3-1).
  • Result Only (50 pts): You predicted the correct outcome but different scorelines/margins (e.g. Predicted 1-0, Match finished 3-0).
  • One Team Correct (20 pts): You got the score of one team correct, but missed the result/margin completely (e.g. Predicted 2-1, Match finished 2-3).
  • Wrong (0 pts): Your prediction missed all categories.

2. Stage Multipliers

Points are scaled dynamically as the tournament intensifies:

  • Group Stage: 1x multiplier.
  • Round of 16 & Quarter Finals: 1.5x multiplier.
  • Semi Finals & Final: 2x multiplier (an exact score prediction in the final nets you 200 points!).

3. Lock Schedules

Predictions for any given match lock exactly at the official kickoff time (T-0). You can change your picks as many times as you like up until that moment.
